Mt. View is the county seat of Stone County, home to White River which has the best trout fishing in the United States. Here you can experience the “Natural State” at it best, with its rolling farmland and steep sub 2,000 foot mountains, huge cliffs and numerous caves.

The Buffalo River, 35 miles to the west,  is 150 miles of free-flowing beauty, and its fast currents (on upper stretches) and green pools flanked by sandstone bluffs (downstream) are perfect for lazy summer getaways. The Norfork and Bullshoal Lakes a hour to the north make this area a fisherman’s dream come true and there is also all the water sports a family could desire.

The Ozark National Forest contains hundreds of miles of paths for bikers and pedestrians, including the new Syllamo Mountain Bike Trail, 40 miles of roller-coaster hills and stream crossings (with 60 miles in the works).

Mountain View is surrounded by mountains and rivers, offering outdoor activities that include caving at Blanchard Springs Caverns and fly fishing on the White River. The 50-mile Syllamo Mountain Bike Trail is also nearby, a trail recently designated by The International Mountain Biking Association as an "Epic Ride," a status only 37 trails across the nation currently hold. Outside Magazine recently listed the trail as one of the Top 20 Outdoor Destinations in the nation.
